Les isles d’Argentine – Argentina tourism on an island?

When you are in Argentina then you should surely visit the islands in Argentina. These pictures of beauty and the lovely bits of land in this magnificent country surely would be the best place to go if you are on a vacation in South America. They are every bit a great pleasure in Argentina tourism.

So if you are searching for some good islands then the Isla Apipe is a good piece of land in the River Parana. This lovely island on the Paraguay border is also the place where the province is separated from this island by the River Parana. The island lies in the Province of Correientes.There are many smaller islets in the island along with which there is an enclave created by the entire group. The waters of Paraguay surround this combined land.

This 25km stretch of land is a nice place to go for its serenity and calm. The lovely green expanse here is also mesmerizing.

Then you have the Isla de Los Estados which lies in the Puerto Cook on the north coast. This is around 29 meters from the Tierra del Fuego which lies in the Argentinine side. It is separated from the Tierra del Fuego by the strait of Le Maire. It is also known by the name of Staten Island.

This island is now an ecological reserve and is a historic place with tourist facilities. There are tours from the city of Ushuaia which are organized for the tourists. The Puerto Parry naval station is the only settlement here. It is found on the northern part of the island. It is situated in a small fjord which is deep. There are four marines which protect this station and they maintain the conservation of the environment here and give emergency aid wherever needed.

This island has the best flora and fauna and ahs beautiful dense greenery. The NOthofagus beach in the south is very famous. The penguins, seals, orcas, cormorans and seagulls live here and the deer and goats too live here. The Magellanic Penguin is very much found here. This was earlier a seal location where seals used to be harvested. Thus Argentina tourism got its share of success.

It is said that the Jacob le Maire was the first European to come here along with Willem Schouten in the year 1615. Then it was named as the Country of the Lords of the Staer. Then they passed through a path in the Magellan Straits which is today the Strait of Le Maire. They notice a great portion of land which was given the name of Staten Land and they thought it as part of the southern continent. In fact there was a pilot from Argentina who actually built a shelter here. This was built near Port Cook. The San Juan del Salvamento was started in the year 1994. The lighthouse was also known by the name of Faro del fin del mundo meaning the Lighthouse at the end of the world.

In this manner, this island has its own share of history in Argentina tourism.
