Chile islands – Go the Easter Island way

Go on the lovely treks and trails here and explore the dense forests here. See all the wildlife that this place offers with the birds too. See the Tierra del Fuego which is one of the largest South American islands. The Magellan strait separates it from the mainland. The tourists normally go to the Argentinean side of Tierra del Fuego but do also go to the Chilean side. There are lots of fishermen who love to see how the remote fishing at Tierra del Fuego is popular.

The Easter Island is one of the loveliest here. It is said that TE Piton Te Hanau is revered by the islanders a lot. The beautiful white beaches of this island are what attract tourists there. Besides there are facilities for scuba diving etc. then you have the horseback ride here which takes you around the place and also you could just walk around the Easter Island.

Go to Ranao Kau and see the biggest volcano on the island. Today there is a fresh water lake in the erstwhile huge crater here. There are lovely fields of totora reeds today. Then you have Orongo which was a ruined village and so had many stone slabs. Then there is the story of the “bird man”.

Go to Vinapu and see the Ahu Tahira which is a beautiful cave with the best kind of paintings. There are stone blocks which resemble those in the city of Peru. The Ahu Vaihu is a sacred place. There are many figures here and they were all left shambles. Gradually all this is being redeveloped. See the “Road of the Moai in the crater’s southern portions. Also go the Agu Tongariki the biggest Ahu on this island and see how staues are washed away here. There are many petroglyphs and statues in this and they all provide lot of entertainment vaur.
